September in Review

Posted on September 29, 2020

September is always a month of newness, and this month was certainly no exception. As fall begins and kids go back to school (whatever that looks like), we take in the events of the last month in preparation for the next. Here at PraiseCharts that means looking at this month’s releases to see what our favorite artists have done. Among all the amazing albums, singles and EPs released this month there are three worship songs that stand out among the rest, here is September in review.

The third most popular song at PraiseCharts released this month is Whatever May Come by Jeremy and Adrienne Camp on their album The Worship Project. This song stands out on the album as a response to chaos and uncertainty. The two wrote this song as the world was shutting down and isolating due to the pandemic. It’s a declaration that God is our victory, and that whatever may come God will triumph over it.

Second on our charts for the month is First Love (Live) by Kari Jobe on her EP First Love (Live). This song was beautifully recorded live in Nashville at The Belonging Co. and starts off the EP - which is more accurately described as an experience. The spontaneous worship throughout the EP ties each song into the next and draws the listener/viewer into worship from wherever they are.

The top song released this month at PraiseCharts is Battle Belongs by Phil Wickham. This song comes at a time when a new battle seems to find us before another is over. Battle Belongs declares that when our world seems to be in more turmoil than ever and the battle is far greater than we can fight ourselves, that the battle doesn’t even belong to us. It reminds us that, like the Israelites at the bank of the Red Sea, the Lord will fight for us, and He has won, and we need only be still.

These top three songs are just a snapshot of a month filled with incredible new worship music. Here's a list of 20 top new worship songs released this September.
