Yeshua! Yeshua! The Rock where we stand!

Featuring Dennis Jernigan Posted on January 30, 2010

"...Yeshua! Yeshua! The Rock where we stand!..."

Statesman Alexander Hamilton once said, "Those who stand for nothing fall for anything." That is so true. In this day and age the national thought seems to be that ‘anything goes as long as you don't bother me'. That is dangerous ground. A man without a foundation can be swept away like sand on a beach or blown around like autumn leaves on a windy day. Sometimes we fear rejection so we are afraid to make waves lest someone find out and confront us. That's the way I was for far too long. My way of thinking was to simply accept my lot in life as ‘this is just the way it is' and everything will be fine. The only problem with kind of thinking was that I never felt secure. Without a sure foundation, fear touches everything we think and do. When Jesus set me free, I suddenly found myself on a Solid Rock that could not be swayed by the world's waves of sinful propaganda any longer. I finally had a place to plant my feet that left me feeling secure.
Are you easily swayed by the opinions of others? Is this because there is an area of your life not planted on the Rock? Meditate today on what you believe and why you believe it. If the things you stand on do not have Jesus as the foundation what can you do to change them?

And the rain fell, and the floods came,
and the winds blew and slammed against that house;
and {yet} it did not fall, for it had been founded on the rock.

Matthew 7:25 NASB
