Like the winter’s passing brings the sun to shine again

“…Like the winter’s passing brings the sun to shine again …”
‘This, too, shall pass’. We’ve heard that statement so many times in our culture. It simply means that even the most trying of times will eventually fade away or that somehow we eventually ‘make it’ through. Yet, what about the emotional wounds we face in life? Is it right to say to ourselves or to others ‘this, too, shall pass’? In God’s economy we can always count on Him to get us through the trials of life. Even the most wounding of memories I thought I would always have to carry with me have now become part of the history of my life. The great thing about God’s ability to get us through is that He takes even the impossible situations and makes possibilities. He takes even those things Satan means for evil and redeems them and uses them for His glory. So when we say ‘this, too, shall pass’ from God’s point of view we are saying that God is in control – and look how great He is in His powerful love!
Think about the areas of your life in which you really need one of those ‘this, too, shall pass’ attitudes. In what ways can you see the Lord may be working even in these areas to bring about His glory and His kingdom in your life.
"I am the Lord, the God of all the peoples of the world.
Is anything too hard for me?”
