Like a poem needs a clever rhyme

“…Like a poem needs a clever rhyme…”
Sometimes I go through periods in my life where everything just feels out of sync…like somehow my mental or emotional or spiritual engine is not firing on all cylinders. It can feel like a bad poetry session where the words ALMOST rhyme or where they rhyme but they are so trite they cause us to groan in agony! Life can get that way. Whenever I get out of sync, one of the things I have learned to do is simply to stop everything and get honest…even if I am in the middle of a busy schedule. You see, God is not limited by our busyness at all! He is more than willing to meet with us anywhere at anytime! When I put the emotional, mental, spiritual, or physical brakes on in my life I do so in order to allow the Lord to re-align my thought processes. The simplest way to do that? Worship. Gratitude. Talking or singing to Him the truth of Who He is. Whenever I am out of alignment it simply means I have stopped thinking God-thoughts and begun to think me-thoughts. When I get back to Him, the ‘words’ of my life begin to rhyme again…and not just simple first-grade rhymes, but exquisite, clever rhymes that remind me of how much He loves me.
Spend time to day allowing the Holy Spirit to re-align your thoughts.
He put a new song in my mouth,
a song of praise to our God;
Many will see and fear
And will trust in the LORD.
Psalm 40:3 NASB
