Like a flower needs the rain

“…Like a flower needs the rain…”
As believers, we are expected to mature in our faith…to deepen our walk with the Lord. That’s what relationship is all about. Growth. Depth of life…abundance of life. Yet, the very health such a relationship brings into our existence can often lead us to a sense of self-sufficiency. “Look how far I’ve come!” is a great attitude…unless we forget the One who got us this far! Without the rain, the flower would not grow. Without the sunshine, the flower does not receive the power it needs to sustain life. Without the nutrients of the soil, the flower cannot possibly survive. That is how the believer is to live his life •thriving in his existence but remembering who gives him his very existence.
We need the Lord – no matter how healthy we think we are. Spend time today thanking God for all the things He does to sustain your spiritual and physical existence.
For, "ALL FLESH IS LIKE GRASS, AND ALL ITS GLORY
LIKE THE FLOWER OF GRASS. THE GRASS WITHERS,
AND THE FLOWER FALLS OFF, BUT THE WORD OF
THE LORD ENDURES FOREVER."
And this is the word which was preached to you.
