"Fear Not Tomorrow" Album Story

Featuring Risen Music Posted on September 7, 2011

Ruth Graham, daughter of famed Billy Graham, empathizes with those who feel inadequate, outnumbered, overpowered, overwhelmed, or even beyond hope.  In her book Fear Not Tomorrow, God Is Already There, Graham shares her own voyage of discovering the tremendous assurance of trusting in God as ultimate caretaker.

When Sarah Mentzer was asked to write original music as part of the Fear Not experience, she was awestruck.  “Humbled does not begin to describe my response,” says Mentzer.  “I knew that this was not something I could do on my own, but I felt God calling me to trust Him.  He would provide the music; I was just the vessel.”  And provide He did.  “It was a transforming experience. I had written music from the Spirit before, but this was entirely different. Simply put, this music was anointed.”

Brandee Vandergriff wrote many of the song lyrics for the Fear Not project, working closely with Mentzer who also wrote the majority of the melodies.  Tim Paul worked with Vandergriff and Mentzer to fill in the blanks and arrange each piece for choir and orchestra.  Other songwriters on the project include Al Denson and Robert White Johnson.  Together this talented team skillfully captured the vulnerability and the hope of Graham’s story.

The collection of songs in the Fear Not project are available with several orchestration options, so groups of any size can present the Fear Not experience.
