And I believe that He is strong and He is able

Featuring Dennis Jernigan Posted on January 20, 2010

As I grow older my body can no longer do what it used to do. Intellectually, I knew this day would come. Realistically, I felt I could delay the process through exercise and being wise with what I put into my body. Reality is that aging takes its toll regardless of how well we treat our earthly body! In fact, running daily for years (which made me feel good and kept me healthy on several levels) has caused my knees to wear out. Three surgeries later, I can no longer run! It is this process that has caused me to remember just how dependent upon the Lord for His strength I truly am. My physical frailty causes me to rely on Him to get me through. My emotional frailties and mental weaknesses cause me to trust the strength of His emotions and His thoughts. My spiritual being, unlike my physical body, does not age in the same way. The more I exercise my spirit, the more of His strength I gain. When I cannot, He can. When I am unable, He is very able.
What areas of your life do you need to see God's strength today? Dwell on His strength today.

And God [is] able to make all grace abound toward you;
that ye, always having all sufficiency in all [things],
may abound to every good work...
2 Corinthians 9:8 KJV
