And I believe He has redeemed me and I’m grateful

I try not to live in the past. That only makes me walk in self-pity and cause me to become too self-focused.  But, I do take time to remember where God has brought me. Looking back with the idea of putting on a grateful heart is always a good place from which to exalt God. I did not deserve His love. I deserved death and hell because of my sinfulness, yet He saw worth in me as an individual and gave everything He had and everything He was to purchase me for Himself. I was the one kidnapped by sin. He was the only One who could pay the ransom to set me free. When I look at how far He has brought me it is often difficult for even me to believe I ever went through some of the junk of life I have gone through. That makes me very grateful indeed!

Spend time today thinking about where you were before Jesus found you...or where you would be had He NOT found you! Use every memory He brings to mind to launch you into a whole new moment of praise today.

Remember my affliction and my wandering,
The wormwood and bitterness.
Surely my soul remembers
And is bowed down within me.

This I recall to my mind,
Therefore I have hope.
The LORD'S lovingkindnesses
Indeed never cease,
For His compassions never fail.
{They} are new every morning;
Great is Your faithfulness.
