Tom Payne is the owner/arranger/director of marketing/janitor/etc. for Barncharts Music. He was Pastor of Worship and Arts at Sun River Church, Rancho Cordova, CA for 8.5 years and was the Director of Instrumental Music at First Baptist Church (now CrossPoint Community Church), Modesto, California for 18 years. Tom has directed small combos, jazz bands, choirs and orchestras, as well as writing and arranging for over 40 years.
Over 55 of his orchestrations have been published by Genevox Music, LifewayWorship.com, Allegis Music, Prism Music, PraiseCharts.com and Word Music. Tom is also a two-time winner in the Forest E. Turner Arranger's Competition sponsored by the Metro Instrumental Director's Association with his arrangements of "Higher Ground" and "Lead Me To Calvary."
Tom plays many instruments, including sax, bass, keys (synth, B-3) and piano. He has also played trumpet, trombone, french horn, and percussion over the years.
