Music has always been an integral part of Phil’s life, and he gets to use that passion and his gifts as our part-time Staff Arranger and Worship Leader since 2013. His roles range from creating original arrangements for corporate worship songs and choir specials, assisting with planning services, directing the choir, and leading worship for various services throughout the week. He poignantly shared how he loves that “Christ Church is a place where diversity is valued, and love is the essence of all we do. It’s a place where we pursue the heart of God while welcoming viewpoints that may differ (sometimes greatly) from one person to the next.” It is important to him to both honor and continue our church’s rich musical heritage that also reflects the unity in diversity of our church body.

As a successful freelance arranger, orchestrator, and session singer in town, Phil has already earned two Dove Awards and has sung on many exciting projects for Christian/Gospel artists, movie and video game scores, and even Disney. As a self-proclaimed old soul, he loves board games, music trivia, Star Wars, movie quotes, good food, and spending time with his wife, Kendra, and their dog.
