We are cleansed by the blood of Jesus Christ, which was poured out as a testimony of His sacrificial love. The cleansing of our Spirit is how God intends for us to be purified, healed, and guided back to Him. This is the divine offering that is intended through the death of His son, who stood unblemished and untouched by evil. It is His purity that beckons our confession, and out of this blooms an eternity of belonging beside the divinity of God's throne. Here is a list of songs focusing on cleansing.
Guilt is a real thing. Lots of times, we know to do right, but do wrong instead. God has said in 1 John 1:9 “ If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness”. This means that when you say “God I'm sorry I did wrong- please forgive me” that God hears you. But the next step we must also do is believe the second part of that verse. “to cleanse us from all unrighteousness” means to take away the guilt associated with sin. Sadness, frustration and anger are emotions not often embraced as inevitable parts of life—or of our spiritual journey. What do you do when you find yourself in a season of lament? There is good news that most of us know but few choose to embrace: lament is a necessary and healthy spiritual condition, an exercise of faith that can lead to eventual joy and peace that words fail to capture. Lament. This long expression of deep pain or sorrow isn't a sign of a *lack* of faith or spiritual weakness. It's a soul-strengthening exercise.
