About
Brenton's journey spans continents and experiences, weaving together a tapestry of faith, music, and resilience. Hailing from Cape Town, South Africa, his early years were marked by a deep involvement in worship within a vibrant, multicultural church community. While pursuing studies in politics and law, his encounter with the transformative power of the gospel redirected his path towards a life of worship leadership. This pivotal moment propelled him into the Vineyard Movement, where he contributed to iconic recordings such as "Come Now Is The Time" and "Hungry," setting the stage for a burgeoning recording career.
Transitioning to Oxford as a Rhodes Scholar, Brenton's immersion in academia was paralleled by his deepening involvement in worship, culminating in collaborations with Brian Doerksen and the Vineyard Movement. However, his trajectory shifted abruptly when he fell ill with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, prompting a return to his South African roots. Despite the challenges, Brenton's resilience shone through as he embarked on a solo project with Survivor Records, releasing impactful songs like "Hosanna (Praise is rising)" and "Everlasting God." Relocating to Malibu, California, Brenton and his wife Jude found solace and community, fostering healing and renewal amidst their journey. Through trials and triumphs, Brenton's musical contributions continue to resonate globally, leaving an indelible mark on the landscape of contemporary worship.
