Highlands Worship is the Worship Ministry of Church of the Highlands in Birmingham, Alabama. The church as founded in 2001, by pastor Chris Hodges, and has grown to 14 multi-site campuses with 40,000 members. Highlands Worship is the collective voice of the worship ministries of the church and features gifted songwriters and vocalists who lead the church in worship every week. Highlands Worship also leads thousands of other church leaders and believers throughout the year in conferences at home and beyond. In 2012, Highlands Worship released their first major project, "Place of Freedom.” Recorded live at Church of the Highlands, “Place of Freedom” introduced songs and worship anthems that are being embraced by many churches around the United States and the world. The latest project, "Here I Surrender" releases July 22, 2016. The studio album features 13 songs written with the intent to encourage congregational worship, resource churches and draw people closer to God. The songs for this album have been carefully chosen to represent the ministry of Highlands Worship but, more importantly, to help churches and believers encounter God's presence through worship.
