Reason Files

Reason is a powerful music and audio production software that is the backbone of most of our Click Track and Rhythm Track audio products. This page is designed to give you important information about our Reason session files and offer suggestions on how to optimize these resources for your own use. For more information on exactly how to use a Reason File from PraiseCharts, click here.

New Users

If you’re new to Reason and want to know more about it, you may want to visit the Reason website directly and explore the product in greater detail. I will leave it to the experts to provide you with the most comprehensive information about Reason. Check this out.

If you plan to download any of our Reason session files, I would encourage you to learn about the software before you open our files. It is best you spend some time on their site learning about all Reason has to offer your music creativity. You can also download a demo of Reason and try out the software for yourself, though you will need the full version of Reason to use our files.

Experienced Users

If you’re already familiar with Reason, then using our session files will be a breeze. You should be able to open any of our Reason session files and play back on your system just like any other Reason session file. (Please note our System Requirements section below.)

The Purchase Process

Songs that offer a companion Reason session file will show that option in the Product/Preview section. Most of our popular Rhythm and Click Tracks have companion Reason Files now available. Once you complete your purchase and download our Reason ZIP files, you will receive the Reason session file in the original artist key. From there, you can modify the track as you wish. Please note: We will not be able to offer support for Reason files once you download them to your system. If you need to, you can always download the Reason session files again by clicking on the “My Downloads” link at the top of the page.

System Requirements

Although most of our Reason sessions have been created in Reason 7, our most recent tracks are being created in the latest Reason 8. If you are using Reason 7, you will not be able to open any sessions created using Reason 8. You can, however, open any older Reason session with Reason 6 or 7. Once a Reason session is saved in the newer version (8.0) it cannot be saved as an older version (7 or older). Here’s what you need in order to run Reason on your system:

Mac OS X
• Intel Mac (multiple cores highly recommended)
• 1 GB RAM or more
• DVD drive
• Mac OS X 10.4 or later
• 2 GB free hard disk space
• Monitor with 1024x768 resolution or larger
• CoreAudio compliant audio interface or built-in audio hardware
• A MIDI interface and a MIDI keyboard recommended

• 2 GB free hard disk space
• Monitor with 1024x768 resolution or larger
