About

The Cageless Birds Collective falls under the umbrella of A Place for the Heart ministry. A Place for the Heart sits on 52 acres of woods in Sophia, NC and is the residence of all the Cageless Birds studios. The Cageless Birds artist collective is made up of over 25 artists and creatives, their work ranging from song-writing to leathercraft to pottery and coffee roasting. The collective was established in 2013 by Jonathan and Melissa Helser to provide space for their staff to use their giftings and talents year-round to generate income for A Place for the Heart and our discipleship school, The 18 Inch Journey.
