Honoring and celebrating our parents is a Biblical attribute. To honor God is to revere and fear Him. Only the Lord is deserving of such ultimate glory or reverent fear. True honor for God was the basis and model for honoring others, especially parents. Our obedience to God starts with trust and then comes from abiding in the life of Christ rooted in love (John 15:14-15). Loving the Lord is the source of obedience and doing what Jesus commands shows love for him (John 14:15,21; 15:10, 14). Parents Day takes place July 25, 2021.
