Guy Somers is a multi-style guitarist, composer, instructor, contemporary worship leader, and technical editor of Guitar Exercises For Dummies from the #1-selling guitar instruction book series in the US. He has played 30 years, taught 20 years and led worship teams for 15 years. He studied guitar at the Cincinnati Conservatory, Southern Missiouri State and Central Bible College.

Guy Somers has taught over 600 students in 10 years. He is a sought after, pro, multi-style guitarist, instructor, band leader, mentor to developing teachers, and Technical Editor of    Guitar Exercises For Dummies from the #1-selling guitar instruction book series in the US.  

He has played 30 years, taught 20 years and performed most weekends for over 15 years. He studied guitar at the Cincinnati Conservatory, Southern Missouri State, Central Bible College, and with various other nationally renowned guitarists. He has accompanied  Will McFarlane (Bonnie Raitt) and    Rebecca Kia (Manheim Steamroller). He was a finalist in the 2009 Iowa's Got Talent Competition.

Guy also has a B.A. in Theological Studies with a minor in counseling. He started out as an award winning artist in high school but it was his passion for guitar that won out. He loves to teach, compose, organize, analyze and achieve goals. When he's not playing he enjoys cooking, drinking tea, talking with family & friends, meeting people, landscaping, & playing chess.
