All Saints Day, also known as All Hallows' Day, or Hallowmas, is a Christian celebration in honor of all the saints from Christian history. In Western Christianity, it is observed on November 1st. All Saints Day relates to giving God earnest gratitude for the lives and deaths of his saints, remembering those who were well-known and not. Devotion is longing, intense longing for the Beloved. When ones' love is to give pleasure and glory to the Lord. A clear and willing choice that we make as we faithfully respond to God's words to us. Using these arrangements of songs & hymns, we can examine our lives carefully and ask if we have devoted ourselves, or the things that we own, to serve God or to serve ourselves.
In Matthew 4, Jesus was walking along the seashore. He saw a set of brothers fishing in their boat. He called out to them just as He calls out to you now. He said, “Follow Me.” In that moment, Peter and Andrew had a choice to make. Do they go on doing the good work they are doing, paying no mind to the man inviting them to drop everything and follow Him? Or to they take steps of faith, knowing there is something different about this Jesus? Later, Jesus calls Peter the rock on which He would build His church.
