About
Josh Blakesley believes his calling is to make music that moves people into prayer and action. As a Christian songwriter, the question that provokes him is, “How do I create a song that will honor traditions yet speak to the modern Church and lead them to worship?” In addition to writing songs, he travels consistently, sharing his songs and this message around the world.
With seven albums under his belt, Josh is no stranger to the songwriting and recording process. His most recent album, “Outpoured,” was released on January 20, 2023, and features songs like "Beautiful is Your Love," "Alleluia! Sing to Jesus," and "Jesus, I Trust in You." In addition to creating his own music, Josh has become an experienced producer. Working with various artists, he has developed several albums, songs, and compilations into successful recordings. Josh is currently producing the theme song for World Youth Day 2023, Lisbon.
In collaboration with OCP and speaker and author Paul George, Josh released the video series The Way in 2021. Led by Josh and Paul, the series focuses on promoting introspection, thoughtful prayer, and a strong relationship with Jesus through 10 worship night-style videos.
Josh’s music has been featured in numerous digital publications, including CCM Magazine, New Release Today, Jubilee Cast, and EWTN, as well as on Christian and Catholic radio, SiriusXM, etc. He has partnered with Catholic organizations such as LifeTeen, NFCYM, OCP, Franciscan University of Steubenville, as well as various churches and schools worldwide, playing his own music, playing with his band, leading worship and prayer for youth and adults alike.
Josh is currently the Music Director at St. Faustina Catholic Church outside Houston, Texas, where he lives with his wife, Heather Blakesley, and their two children, Sophie and Sutton.

In the biblical context of health and wellness, wholeness might mean being well in spirit, mind and body. In Paul's letter of encouragement to the Christians living in Thessalonica, he addresses an aspect of their wholeness when he prays for them: “Now may the God of peace make you holy in every way, and may your whole spirit and soul and body be kept blameless until our Lord Jesus Christ comes again. God will make this happen, for he who calls you is faithful.” 1 Thessalonians 5:23-24. Find songs and hymns on the theme of wholeness.
