About
Born and raised in San Antonio, Texas, Jonsal grew up in a unique environment with his grandfather being a pastor of a small, independent Baptist Spanish church, Jonsal did not speak Spanish. This cultural dichotomy shaped his perspective and set the stage for his musical journey.
Coming from a family with a musical background, Jonsal was exposed to music from an early age. His brothers played the guitar and piano, and they often sang together. Music seemed to run in his blood. As he grew older, Jonsal began to feel a calling from God, a sense that he possessed a special gift meant to be utilized. This realization prompted him to explore the world of music more deeply.
His journey began by leading worship in his youth group, gaining valuable experience and honing his skills. At the age of 22, Jonsal decided to take a significant step forward by applying for the worship apprenticeship at Elevation, an influential platform in his musical realm. This opportunity proved transformative, as it exposed him to larger stages, musical excellence, and the intricacies of arranging and leading teams.
