About
Over the past five decades, Camp Kirkland has emerged as one of the premier church musicians in the nation. He is recognized as the pioneer in establishing instrumental music as a viable medium in the life of the church music program. In 1971, he began the instrumental music program at First Baptist Church of Jacksonville, Florida. In 1976 he joined the staff full-time as Instrumental Director, the first position of its kind in the nation. During his tenure, the program flourished to include four graded orchestras and a number of small ensembles involving over 200 instrumentalists. He also created the church's acclaimed School of Music which assists over 100 students each semester in the study of a variety of orchestral instruments, voice, and piano. This program is still a model of excellence in music and effectiveness in ministry. Many of the great church orchestras around the country are led by students and associates of Mr. Kirkland.
Camp Kirkland continues his dynamic music ministry, assisted by his wife Fran, through Camp Kirkland Productions, located in Nashville, Tennessee.

As we read through the founding of the church and disciples' ministries on earth, we can see that times were hard. Facing persecution, ridicule, and even death, the disciples cling to the hope of Jesus and his return to help them overcome these difficult times. We can also have this hope through our difficulties. Jesus gives his Holy Spirit to those who believe and follow him. We can have strength to overcome trials knowing that God is with us. We also know that one day Jesus will return and those who follow him will be united with him. These songs and hymns show how we can persevere in difficulty by focusing on the hope we have in Jesus and that one day he will return.

Download chord charts, lead sheets, orchestrations, and multitracks to bring these songs of hope into your worship, knowing “there is no condemnation for those in Christ” (Romans 8:1).

Hymns have been written all through the ages. Thousands of these songs have stood the test of time, uniting generations in a common voice of worship. Hymns are still being written today, with an intentional focus on penning timeless melodies, multiple verses full of rich theology, and sometimes a chorus to tie the themes together. Here is a list of our most popular modern worship hymns, generally written after 1990. Who knows, maybe we'll still be singing some of these songs in the 2100s.
