ENCOURAGING MUSIC
At Saddleback Church and through Encouraging Music, Rick carefully plans the services to fit with the church's Purpose-Driven® philosophy of ministry, as outlined in Pastor Rick Warren's best-selling book The Purpose-Driven® Church published by Zondervan and now available in 21 languages. The music for the weekend services is developed around the message of that service and is specifically crafted to appeal to non-Christian seekers. Rick uses the acrostic I.M.P.A.C.T. to describe his particular form of worship. The acrostic stands for Inspiration, Movement, Praise, Adoration, Commitment, and Tie it together. There are many ways to plan worship, but this simple acrostic works for Rick and Saddleback. It helps the service flow with a natural progression that prepares each individual's heart to receive God's personal message to them.

The purpose of Encouraging Music is:
1. To provide musical resources to worshipers and church music ministries around the world.

2. To encourage seekers to accept Jesus Christ as their Lord & Savior through worship.
3. To encourage believers (new & old) to continue to seek God first in their lives.

SADDLEBACK CHURCH
Saddleback Church is a Purpose-Driven® church. This means that the church strives to focus on the God-given purposes for the church as clearly revealed by Jesus. As you walk in the front door of the worship building, you can see these 5 purposes etched in the glass wall: Membership (developing relationships), Maturity (spiritual growth), Ministry (giving back in service), Mission (sharing the good news) and Magnification (worshiping God.) These purposes meet the deepest needs we all have. Membership gives me people to live with, Maturity gives me principles to live by, Ministry gives me a profession to live out, Mission gives me a purpose to live for and Magnification gives me a power to live on.

With over 15,000 in attendance each weekend, amazing growth has occurred from 1980 when Saddleback Church started with only one family. Saddleback is the second largest attended church in the U.S. and has been the fastest growing church in America for the past three years. Over 9,000 people have received Christ at Saddleback and nearly 75% of its members were baptized at the church, including more that 1600 baptized in 1999. In 1995, Saddleback was named Key Church of the Year in the Southern Baptist Convention and recognized as the fastest growing Baptist church in American History.

Pastor Rick Warren is well known as the pioneer of The Purpose-Driven® Church paradigm for church health and growth. Peter Drucker calls him "the inventor of perpetual revival." Over 150,000 pastors and church leaders from 60 denominations and 100 countries have attended a Purpose-Driven® Church Conference or Seminar. Over 1 million copies of The Purpose-Driven Church® book have been distributed in seventeen languages and was awarded the Gold Medallion Ministry Book of the Year by the Evangelical Publisher's Association. It is being used as a text in dozens of seminaries.
