Chord Charts

Chord charts are available all over the internet for free, but in many cases, they are not legal, not accurate, and not based on any particular arrangements. We have decided to take chord charts to the next level. To see a complete list of songs in our catalog that have Chord Charts available, go to the Song List page and click on the Chord Charts checkbox under Search Filters in the left sidebar.  That will narrow the list of titles down to only those that have Chord Charts available.  Read below to find out what makes PraiseCharts chord charts worth your attention:

Features Of Our Chord Charts

If PraiseCharts is all about charts, we have good reason to pay close attention to detail with our new line of chord charts. After using chord charts from PraiseCharts, you may never want to download another kind of chord chart again. You can download a sample that includes imbedded comments that explain various features of our charts. Plus, we have made many of our charts available for free. Here is what sets these charts apart:

  1. Keyed To The Arrangement - First and most importantly, our chord charts follow the scored arrangement already available at PraiseCharts (if one exists). That means, you can use our chord charts in the same band with other musicians using sheet music for their instrumental or vocal parts. Added to that, you can simply click on the hyperlink under the title of any of our chord charts to go directly to the song location online, where you can find other related resources from MP3's to orchestrations.
  2. Version Control Accuracy - We print the chord charts to PDF to preserve the layout, but if we find a mistake, we'll upload the corrected version for everyone to access, and note the change using the version number. If you download a chart and find a mistake, you can just email or fax the correction to us. We'll make the change, create a new PDF and upload it for you and anyone else who has purchased the chart - along with a new version number.
  3. Tempo Is Noted - One way to ruin a good song is to play it in the wrong tempo. Most of our charts have the tempo listed, so that your drummer can find the tempo with a metronome and be sure to get your band off to a good start.
  4. Multiple Keys - With most online chord charts, when you change the key, the chords often get moved to the wrong location, the layout changes, and the chart becomes more frustrating than helpful. With our chord charts, we print every key (with some minor exceptions) to a single PDF. Every key retains the same professional layout and accuracy as the original key. The key is clearly listed at the top of every chart. That means you can do any song in any key, or have your acoustic guitar player have ultimate flexibility with a capo.
  5. Rhythm and Instrumental Sections - Not every part of a song is keyed to a lyric. We don't want you guessing when to change chords, so we have developed a simple, clear way to indicate chord changes where there are no lyric cues. This is common in Intro's, Endings, and Instrumental's in the middle of songs. It is also common at the end of lyric phrases where the chords continue to change without following a standard pattern. We make sense of all of that in our chord charts so that your band plays and sounds tight.

  6. Multiple Endings - PraiseCharts may be one of the only places you can get a chord chart that properly indicates multiple endings in song sections. With multiple endings, you can know exactly how you are progressing through the "arrangement", and what section to go to next.

  7. Worship Friendly Fret Diagrams - We have taken special care to customize the fret diagrams of a large library of guitar chords so that they work well for a contemporary worship leader. Many common guitar chords (like G, Am7, Em7) are diagrammed in a way that sounds good, often not found in your typical song book with fret diagrams throughout. Fret diagrams are included for all the guitar friendly keys of every song: namely, A B C D E and G.
  8. Copyright Legal With CCLI - It is almost unheard of to find a place that actually sells chord charts, because you can so easily just download and print them for free from hundreds of places on the internet. Unfortunately, most of those places are not legal, and not authorized by the music publishers. PraiseCharts has obtained copyright clearance to make all of these chord charts available. With a CCLI subscription, you can make unlimited copies of these charts for your musicians for use within your church -- all legally, with a clean conscience. The price for these charts is more than reasonable, and well worth the effort we have put into creating them.
