PraiseCharts began in 1998 with a focus on providing orchestrations for contemporary worship. That focus continues to grow, even as we are now introducing a new line of arrangements intended for small groups, accompanied by the acoustic guitar.
Congregational worship happens at many different levels, from thousands of people gathered in a large auditorium to a small group gathered in a cozy living room. From lights, sound and a full orchestra, to the simplicity of an acoustic guitar, PraiseCharts music is adaptable to all kinds of venues, resourcing worship leaders and musicians at every level.
With the Acoustic Worship Series, we have taken some of the most popular songs from our regular catalog, and modified the arrangements slightly so they are conducive to a small group worship setting. Then, we created chord charts and recorded new audio demos with one vocal and one acoustic guitar, featuring our very own Toby Baxley. Each song is available as an Acoustic Set. An Acoustic Set includes an Acoustic Track (the audio demo) and the Acoustic Charts (the chord charts in every key).
The Acoustic Worship Series is designed to enable singers in small groups, as well as equip worship leaders who play the guitar. A worship leader can print out the charts, learn the songs from the Audio Tracks, and then lead a small group with greater confidence. For added support, you can even play the Audio Tracks in your small group, with or without a live guitar.

Questions and Answers
What is included when I buy the Acoustic Sets as a volume collection?
Each volume collection includes a ZIP file with 13 audio tracks (as MP3's), and a PDF with more than 250 pages of chord charts (in multiple keys) and lyrics. The song sheets are included with the volume collections only.
Are the Acoustic Charts in the same format as the regular Chord Charts from PraiseCharts?
The chord charts for the Acoustic Worship Series are in the same format as our regular chord charts, however they are specifically written to match the Acoustic Worship audio demos. In most cases, the arrangement is played with a capo. That way, you can use a familiar chord structure, and yet play in a key that adapts well to the vocal range of a small group. Capo markings are clearly indicated on the Chord Charts, throughout the various keys that are included.
Can I play piano with the Acoustic arrangements?
Yes. You just have to make sure that when you are playing piano, you are not reading from a chord chart that is intended for the acoustic guitar with a capo. A pianist should play from the concert key. With the individual song PDF's, the concert key for the piano is included as the second page if the guitar is played with a capo. With the volume collection sets, there is a Quick Link provided that allows you to easily print all the chord charts as a package, either for the acoustic guitar (with capo) or piano (in concert pitch).
What is a capo?
A capo is a movable bar that you place over the fret board of a guitar to change the key without changing the chord patterns. For example, you can play a song in Bb using a G chord progression in you place your capo on the 3rd fret. Bb is 3 semi-tones above G (G > Ab > A > Bb).
How do I read the capo markings on the Acoustic Worship chord charts?
The top right corner of every Acoustic Chart displays the original key and the capo key in the following format: "Capo on 3 = Bb :: Key = G". this means, the key of the chart is G, but if you play this chart with your capo on the 3rd fret, you will be playing in Bb. Therefore, if you want a piano player to join you, you should give them the Bb. version. For more information on how the guitar capo works, click here.
Do I need a CCLI license to play these songs in my small group?
Yes. Your small group should be covered under the CCLI license of your church. You can feel free to make copies of these chord charts as long as they are only used under the ministry of a single church. When you print out the chord charts, PraiseCharts automatically prints your church name and CCLI number on all the pages. If your small group is not part of your church ministry, or if you are a house church, then you should contact CCLI to determine your licensing needs.
Can I copy the audio tracks from the Acoustic Worship Series?
We will sell permission to make copies of the audio at 65 cents per copy. To request permission to copy audio, email permissions@praisecharts.com with the song title, number of copies needed, along with your billing info. We will send you an invoice by email, and once payment has been submitted, you are free to make copies.
Who is the worship leader singing on the Acoustic Worship recordings? Toby Baxley plays guitar and sings all the Acoustic Worship arrangements. Toby is well known to the PraiseCharts audience from his recent recordings, including Worship The Newborn King, Let This Christmas Be (Christ In Me), and more. Watch for more original songs coming from Toby in the new year.
