Chris Tomlin’s artistry and his contemporary Christian music continues to cast a wide net as it’s estimated that 20-30 million people sing his songs in worship around the globe every week. The acclaimed worship leader/songwriter/singer says of his music, “Since I was young, I have felt a calling to give people the opportunity to worship every day of the week, not just on Sundays. “My songs are written with the intention of helping people connect with God. “Holy Forever” is one of the fastest growing songs in the church right now and one of Tomlin’s largest consumed songs each week in his distinguished catalog with over 140M streams. The Grammy-nominated, six-week #1 single, which has become one of the most significant songs of his 20+-year career, has catapulted his impact and visibility as one of the most influential worship leaders of the era.

It’s always been Tomlin’s hope that his music will make a difference, song by song. From his very first studio album nearly two decades ago, that has been his joy and his guiding light. The long, abundant life that we all long for, Tomlin says, is the one he makes his music about. “We find that life in Jesus, in his love, in his grace, in his mercy.”

As a songwriter, Tomlin knows that sometimes you try to find words to say something in a clever way and other times you try to just say plainly what the truth is. “Modern culture makes it feel like everything is more. And yet, there is less and less truth. To come back to the simple truth that Jesus is the son of God? That is quite a statement. My heart hopes that people will worship God in the hard times and in the darkest storms.”

That’s the essence of what worship is about, Tomlin notes. “He wouldn’t be God if we could grasp everything. This is the reason there is even a worship album to make. This is the reason there’s a church that gathers together and has the hope to sing because of what Christ has done for us. We can never get too far from that.”

TIME magazine, citing the Christian Copyright Licensing International (CCLI), has called Tomlin the most-often sung artist in the world.  Tomlin has scored 21 number-one singles, 30 top-ten hits (more than any other Christian artist), and spent a total of 158+ weeks at number-one during his career.
