Scripture Focus:
“But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.” — 1 Corinthians 15:57

There is a beautiful progression in this medley — a journey from redemption to gratitude to total surrender. It begins with a simple, yet profound truth: “What can wash away my sin? Nothing but the blood of Jesus.”

The Cleansing Blood

The opening words from Nothing But The Blood remind us of the central message of the gospel: We are washed clean, not by our own effort, but by the sacrifice of Jesus. The blood of Christ is our only hope for righteousness. It is not our works, our good intentions, or even our deepest sorrow over sin that saves us — only the blood of Jesus. When we sing, “Oh, precious is the flow that makes me white as snow,” we are declaring that His mercy is more than enough to cover every stain.

Take a moment to reflect: Are you still trying to earn God’s love, or are you resting in the power of His cleansing blood?

A Heart of Gratitude

As the medley transitions into Give Thanks, we see the natural response to salvation: gratitude. Because of what the Lord has done, the weak can say, “I am strong,” and the poor can say, “I am rich.” This is not just a poetic lyric; it’s a spiritual reality. The cross exchanged our weakness for His strength, our poverty for His riches, our sin for His righteousness.

Gratitude shifts our perspective. When we focus on what God has already done, we move from striving to trusting, from fear to faith. Even in difficulty, we can say, “Thank You, Lord,” because we know He is at work.

Pause and ask yourself: What areas of your life do you need to surrender to gratitude instead of worry?

Lifting Hands in Total Praise

Finally, the medley crescendos into Total Praise, a song of absolute surrender. “You are the source of my strength. You are the strength of my life.” After recognizing the cleansing blood and expressing thanksgiving, we arrive at the only proper response — worship.

When we lift our hands in total praise, we declare that God is our everything. We acknowledge that He alone is our strength, our hope, and our reason for living. We don’t praise Him just for what He has done, but for who He is. The repeated “Amen” is more than a closing — it’s a declaration of agreement with His will, a stamp of trust that says, “Yes, Lord, I believe.”

Ask yourself: Do I trust God enough to lift my hands in surrender, even when I don’t understand?

A Call to Response

Today, let this medley be your prayer. Let the blood of Jesus cleanse you. Let gratitude shape your heart. And let total praise rise from your spirit. He is worthy of it all.

Prayer:
Lord, thank You for the cleansing power of Your blood. Thank You for the strength You give when I am weak, for the hope You bring when I feel lost. I lift my hands in total praise, knowing that You are my source and my strength. May my life be a song of worship to You. Amen.
