There Is Freedom

With Independence Day coming up in the United States, and Canada Day north of the border, language surrounding the word “freedom” begins to be more prevalent. In our patriotic celebrations with our families and neighbors we are reminded of how joyous it is to have the freedoms in our respective countries. As worshippers, the word “freedom” is associated to much more than our flags, food, and fireworks. We sing of the truth of Christ our Savior, whose work sets us free, and of the Spirit, where there is true freedom.

“Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.” 2 Corinthians 3:17 (NIV)
