I lead worship every week for my community, and the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit – as well as disease, unemployment, divorce, and many other struggles – are always in the room with us. If a theology of resurrection (the empty tomb, renewal, personal transformation, healing, miracles) does not stand together in worship with a theology of suffering (the full cross, intercession, trouble, sorrow, struggle), then I contend our worship is out of accord with both the Scriptures and the daily news. more

Perhaps best known for penning the modern worship anthem “God’s Not Dead (Like A Lion),” recorded by David Crowder Band, newsboys and others, Daniel Bashta, a missionary kid who grew up immersed in ministry all around the globe, speaking life and hope into a dark world has been his life-long passion. Educated at the Worship Institute of London and heavily influenced by the ministry of Soul Survivor, Daniel’s path of ministry reads like an intertwining stream. Currently serving as worship pastor at RiverStone Church, just outside of Atlanta, GA, he launched GoMotion (www.gomotionworldwide.com) in 2009, a non-profit ministry that marries music, media and missions for global impact. And in 2013, he will launch The Roar, a missions training school aimed at the “rapid deployment of mission pioneers.”

One of the great ironies that resulted from the 911 terrorist attacks was how suddenly, Islam was being carefully portrayed in the media in a very positive light and converts to Islam in the United States were actually increasing. I never would have imagined that such a thing would have taken place in this country – since the terrorists were committing these atrocities (and so many before and since) in the name of Islam. But I guess that’s modern day USA…

As a worship leader, I am not what you would call normal. I am not a fan of much if any mainstream ‘radio’ worship. I have nothing against those types of worship albums, but they don’t stimulate me through the full hour. Usually there is one song that stands out.

One of the more dangerous things in life is to presume we correctly understand something, but discover, in fact, that we only do so partially. So what is true worship and how do we as the Church biblically align our understanding and worship life together that rightly honors God?

Yesterday, I played golf with some friends. In fact, it was the best day of golf I’ve ever had – and it was not how I hit d’ball. The day was so beautiful: blue skies, green, cool and clear. The course was pastoral and serene. I began to think of God’s miracles and the miracles performed by Jesus.

For many years and generations, our society has been losing a most valuable ingredient. Why do we see so many perversions done to be accepted as "normal" and "natural?" I personally believe that men don't know how to be men and fathers don't know how to be fathers to their children. I believe women long to be women but men have run away from their responsibilities leaving the women to be both mother and father. This will never work. A child, whether a son or a daughter, gains his identity from his or her father. If the father is not there, either physically or emotionally, how can he instill any worth or identity upon the child? Our only hope is in learning how much our heavenly Father desires a close and intimate relationship with His children and becoming the children He says we are.
What you are about to read is a story of hope...and the reason we sing...the reason we will never stop praising the Lord Jesus Christ. The following is our personal witness of the love and power of Jesus Christ in our lives. As you read, we are asking the Lord to break your heart by the things that break His heart. And may you realize your Father's great love for you! You see, it's time for the Church to be honest. If we can't be honest then how can we be healed? And if we can't love one another enough to see healing in our own lives, how can we love a lost and dying world enough to see healing in their lives? No sin is too little or too big. They are all filthy before Him! All we know is we have been called to bring hope and healing to the lost and dying! How He loves you, child!
