About
Bridgecity is more than a band, one might say its more of a movement. With a creative community made up of roughly 250 singers, songwriters and musicians, Portland, Oregon based BRIDGECITY is passionate about encountering God's presence and building the church.
Sonically, the guitar/synth driven band is known for their passionate songwriting, intimate worship moments and uniquely diverse musical stylings. While their target in songwriting is and always has been to write songs that the church can sing, BRIDGECITY also believes that the songs we write should be fresh and creative, giving God our very best.
Psalm 150:6 Says “Let everything that has breath praise the Lord”. We believe that is a mandate for all of us, not just for the singer and musician. Our prayer is that the music we write and sing would connect your heart to the presence of God.

In the Christian liturgical calendar, there are several different Feasts of the Cross, all of which commemorate the cross used in the crucifixion of Jesus. Unlike Good Friday, which is dedicated to the passion of Christ and the crucifixion, these feast days celebrate the cross itself, as the sign of salvation. Holy Cross Day (September 14, 2021) honors Christ's self-offering on the cross for our salvation.
When the stone rolled away from the empty grave on Easter Morning, Christ declared his victory over sin and death! The world is forever changed, and forever changing. He is making all things new! We celebrate this every year, singing traditional songs and hymns in new ways, celebrating the newness of life given to us! Contemporary hymns celebrate this by giving new life to age-old anthems. In Matthew 4, Jesus was walking along the seashore. He saw a set of brothers fishing in their boat. He called out to them just as He calls out to you now. He said, “Follow Me.” In that moment, Peter and Andrew had a choice to make. Do they go on doing the good work they are doing, paying no mind to the man inviting them to drop everything and follow Him? Or to they take steps of faith, knowing there is something different about this Jesus? Later, Jesus calls Peter the rock on which He would build His church.

God's opinion is the one that counts. Accept what God says about you, agree with Him that it is true of you, and become the spiritual person you are. Understanding who you are in Christ will give you a strong foundation to build your life on. Knowing who you are in Jesus is the key to a successful Christian life and a life lived ON purpose. These songs reflect that your identity doesn't depend on something you do or have done. Your true identity is who God says you are.
