About

Many emerging Artists have difficulty defining themselves in this industry. For Marisa Aud, that answer is simple; follow what comes natural. It is not only Marisa’s exceptional voice that comes as a natural blessing. It is Marisa’s ability to translate the intensity of God’s message for those listening. Marisa’s recent single, “Shelter and Strength,” is no exception. While the opening of this power-ballad, “You are our Shelter and Strength, though the earth gives way, though the oceans roar” calls us to worship, it is also a pledge of faith to God that no matter how rough times may get, “we will not sail alone through this storm.” A Native Canadian from Oakville, Ontario, Marisa was raised in a Christian home. Her exposure to worship happened early in her life when her parents came to know Christ. Not knowing many people that shared their faith, they took out an ad in the newspaper inviting people to their home that wanted to worship and learn more about God. “People showed up on our front lawn from all walks of life that day,” Marisa explains. That ad not only started a bible study that would become a weekly staple in Marisa’s early years, but it birthed the love of worship, which was destined to become her passion. “I remember hearing them worship God until all hours of the night,” Marisa says, “I was so moved in my spirit that I would be in tears.” It wasn’t long before Marisa began performing solos at various church and park events. By age 13, Marisa began to lead worship for her youth group and Sunday night services. Shortly after, Marisa joined a traveling ministry team called FORCE. She was the main, female vocalist and performed at youth conventions and summer camps throughout the region. “It was then that I made up my mind to be in ministry,” she states, “there is something powerful about watching people respond to God in a gathering.”

Marisa graduated with a Fine Arts Degree from Southeastern University in Lakeland, FL. Around the same time she met her husband, Phil Aud, also a musician, worship pastor, and songwriter. Together, they led worship at Portico Community Church in Toronto where her husband served as the Worship Pastor. Marisa also served as a Director for a local school of the arts program that focused on getting professional musicians to teach budding artists. In addition, she founded K.wire, a children’s praise choir open to the Toronto community.

Marisa and Phil have also made appearances tv, radio, and frequently accept invitations to lead worship in various evangelical events throughout Canada and the United States.. Marisa’s single, “Shelter and Strength,” is written by her husband, Phil Aud, and produced by Michael Olsen and Ben Gowell. This song inspires us to rise and join its journey, yet come to a halt, submitting to the intimacy of the message it brings. “It is a song for people that are in the midst of a storm in need of an anchor,” she states. And an anchor is exactly what she throws to people every time she sings it. Marisa is getting to release her latest recordings; “Fill me now” and “King of Glory” which she co-wrote with her husband Phil Aud. Marisa and her husband, Phil, reside in the Atlanta area with their three children. They attend Trinity Christian Fellowship in Sharpsburg, GA where they both serve on staff.
