“…Like an outcast needs befriending…”

Have you ever felt like an outcast? Have you ever been to a social gathering where you knew no one and no one made an effort to meet you? How did you feel? Due to the nature of my past, I used to allow my thoughts to keep me in that position of ‘the outcast’. After all, I used to be homosexual. Therefore the other men in the room think less of me as a man. Reality was that probably no one was thinking about me at all! We all play those games from time to time. We all have a tendency to think of ourselves as victims in a sense. One of the quickest ways to victory over such thoughts is very simple: if you want a friend, be a friend! Jesus did not wait around for people to pursue Him. He was always investing His life in others. We must learn to do the same. In so doing we put the lies of the enemy down and become Victors rather than Victims!

Ask the Lord to show you those in your life that need a friend. Take time today to bless that person in a tangible way. Offer a warm hug or a fresh cup of coffee. Be creative.
"Then the righteous will answer Him,
'Lord, when did we see You hungry, and feed You,
or thirsty, and give You {something} to drink?
'And when did we see You a stranger,
and invite You in, or naked, and clothe You?
'When did we see You sick, or in prison, and come to You?'
"The King will answer and say to them,
'Truly I say to you, to the extent that you did it to one
of these brothers of Mine, {even} the least {of them,}
you did it to Me.'

Matthew 25:37-40 NASB
