As I look all around I see knees bowing down

“…As I look all around I see knees bowing down…”

I have been in many worship gatherings where people spontaneously began to lift their hands in surrender to God…or fall to their knees. Those times are precious and holy and proper. When I think of knees bowing before the Lord I cannot help but think of utter desperation – or utter gratitude – an my suspicion is that such moments are a little of both! In my own life I have had moments of despair and desperation that have quite literally brought me to my knees. That place of having nowhere to go but up is a place of realization that we cannot save ourselves…a place of reckoning with the One Who can! It is in that place of utter surrender that we realize that freedom and salvation are at hand because the Victor and Savior meets us in that very place. It is when we understand that position of surrender is a place of intimacy and complete acceptance by the Father that the soul becomes filled with gratitude to the One Who loves us right where we are…but loves us enough to not leave us there.

In what areas do you need to bow your knee to the Father today? To the Victor? To the Savior? Look for ways to surrender today and watch victory and salvation become very real.

Therefore I ask you not to lose heart at my tribulations on your behalf, for they are your glory. For this reason I bow my knees before the Father, from whom every family in heaven and on earth derives its name, that He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with power through His Spirit in the inner man, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; {and} that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ which surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled up to all the fullness of God.
