Come, King Jesus

Words & Music: Dennis Jernigan ©2007 Shepherd's Heart Music, Inc.

Verse
When will You come?
When will I see?
How will I know Your glory?
You are my King!
I will bow down!
Your Kingdom come!
Come in me now!

Chorus
Come, King Jesus!
Bring Your Kingdom!
Scatter darkness with Your majesty!
Come, King Jesus!
Reign in freedom!
Reign in power!
And let Your Kingdom come in me!

Verse Two
You are my King,
So reign over me!

Fill me with pow'r and glory!
Pierce ev'ry darkness
And set captives free!
Lead on, O King,
Beginning in me!

Bridge
The King is coming
On a horse of white!
He will reign in power!
He will reign in might!
Jesus come! Jesus come!
Jesus come!
Let Your Kingdom come!
The King is coming!
Let His church rise up!
Let us declare to the darkness
We have had enough!
Jesus come! Jesus come!
Jesus come!
Let Your Kingdom come!

"...Pierce every darkness and set captives free..."

I remember well the darkness I was bound in for so long...and I remember just as well the very moment when my eyes began to open. Reality was that I had believed so many lies of the enemy that all it took was a little glimmer of light in the mass of my darkness to illumine my eyes and set me on the path of righteousness. When that moment happened, I decided that falling headlong into the Light was my one and only response. I did not want just a little light. I wanted the light to reach into the deepest recesses to flush out all the hidden sin and dead places of my heart and life. As long as one area of darkness was allowed to remain then there was still an area of bondage in my life...and the freedom I tasted only made me want more! But I had to allow Him to shine His light in those places - and then respond in naked honesty to that Light.
What areas of your heart and mind would you like to see the Light in today? Allow the Lord access to those places. Discover a new level of freedom today.

If we say that we have fellowship with Him and {yet} walk in the darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth; but if we walk in the Light as He Himself is in the Light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus His Son cleanses us from all sin. If we say that we have no sin, we are deceiving ourselves and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

John 1:6-9 NASB
