I'm not going to beat around the bush here - I'd have to admit that one of the greatest struggles I ever had as a worship leader is learning how to respond to people's lack of response. It's hard not to take it personally. Is anyone out there sensitive like me? And yet the truth of it is, as leaders, we have to rise above those feelings and LEAD. Maybe that is a conscious decision we need to make before getting on the stage: "today I'm going to be the leader God has called me to be, and through my commitment to that, week after week, the walls are going to start coming down." You gotta dig deep as a worship leader to have that approach.

It seems like some weeks people are responding to God and not letting anything hinder their worship and then the next week it seems as if there is no one in the sanctuary. But as you said, you can't take it personally, you just have to lead as God has called you to lead.
