Thanks for sharing your spreadsheet. It is excellent!

I too will copy your spreadsheet and adapt it for our purposes. I too have been trying to utilise Google Apps for my worship/music/volunteer teams. I ran into trouble including the lyrics of the songs into the spreadsheet. I want to include the lyrics so that worship leaders can do a keyword search for songs to include in a service set. Have you had any luck including lyrics? If not, do you only rely on the general categories included in your spreadsheet (e.g. "Celebration", "Adoration", etc)?

These songs were all written by Jeff Dessommes, who is a member of one of our worship teams and an uber-talented songwriter. We also sang "Everything I Am" (Horness/Dyer), "Give to the Lord" (Kenoly) and "I Give You My Heart" (Morgan). However, this coming weekend, our Men's Quartet is leading worship, so it will be much more traditional. We are truly blessed to have 6-7 different worship teams - each with a different style.

At times our traditional service is more "blended" in a traditional way - this past Sunday we sang "He Is Exalted" and "Majesty" as a medley, as well as "Shine Jesus Shine" and the final hymn was the great "Rejoice The Lord Is King" with brass and pipe organ. In our contemporary service, there's a lot of support for pushing ahead with newer music, but this past week we went retro with "Shout to the Lord" and our people loved it. This week's contemporary service will include "All The Earth Will Sing Your Praises" and Jeff Deyo's song "Bless The Lord". We'll also do "Holy Spirit Rain Down" and "Holy Spirit, Come" and finishing up with "More Love, More Power"... usually we sing one or two more songs, but it's Pentecost AND Mother's Day, so our children's choir is doing a little mini-musical in the services.

We try to introduce 5-10 songs per year, as we have found repetition to be very helpful in helping members learn (and remember!) the songs. The list includes The Power of Your Love, I See the Lord, Great is the Lord, God is Good (under the 'older new' category); and Forever, Enough, Indescribable, How Can I Keep From Singing, You are Holy (Prince of Peace), Trading My Sorrows and Be the Centre (as the 'cutting edge for us' category). We also enjoy traditional hymns with hype, like The Wonderful Cross, Amazing Grace My Chains are Gone, and Paul Baloche's instrumental accomp for All Hail the Power - I recommend this one!!

What a great opportunity to see what other Churches do around the other side of the world - and it makes you realise that we are all closer than we think! We tend to do alot of songs from Hillsong, Planetshakers, Lakewood and mostly from EQUIPPERS AUCKLAND - REVOLUTION CD. Super anointed and a joy to sing.
