I think that is what makes you so real. I can't tell you how many times my bass players or drummers have poked fun at me for making all those "rhythm sounds" as I try to communicate what I'm looking for. In the end, bring it down to the simple groove. Don't get fancy on me. I just want you to lay it down. The bass and drums are like the train tracks for the train. Interesting ... for those of you that don't have a rhythm section on your team (i.e. bass and drums), we're getting ready to produce RHYTHM TRACKS at PraiseCharts, which will provide just bass and drums for you on an MP3, matching our arrangements. You can add all the other instruments you want, knowing your foundation is in place (musical foundation, that is).
