The practice was over. His team stood around describing how much they’ve enjoyed and what they have learned from Wednesday night. So why this excitement after an ordinary rehearsal? How did they become so amped-up, that they couldn’t wait for the next Sunday service to arrive? Does this ever happen on a normal basis?

We all face it as leaders in churches.  If you haven't, you will.  A member of your worship team reveals a hidden side to their life.  A side that involves a relationship outside of marriage, an unmerited living arrangement, or other unexpected life consequences.  What do you do in these situations?  How do you handle them when you feel unworthy every time you step onto the stage yourself?  It's not easy.  Ministry never is.

Choosing people to minister in music is one of the most controversial of issues in music ministry.  There are those that believe that anyone who expresses a desire to minister should be granted that privilege.  Others contend that people need to prove themselves worthy of the position they are in.  It is an age-old discussion that quite often leads to hurt feelings, bruised egos, and even strife, disunity, and church-splits!

Without each instrument, there would be holes that can weaken the strength of the worship team.

There are other things that we should take into consideration while planning for corporate worship, such as; making sure that the words to the songs are easily accessible, adjusting the music to a favorable volume, and determining how the members of the worship team should be dressed. 

God is always the one to determine when he will receive our offering. However, no amount of practice or rehearsing can move the heart of God to inhabit our praise. Does that mean that practice and rehearsal times are not important? Not at all. I believe God takes delight in a sacrifice that costs us something. And practice costs us something. It costs time, energy and money.
