Song Quest

One of the things we're excited about at PraiseCharts is the opportunity to invest into the future of song writing for worship.  Songs that are in the top of the CCLI charts have been around for a long time and have become well established in the churches all around the world.  But far out in front of those songs is a new wave of music not yet discovered.  Some of these songs are written by well known song writers and worship leaders.  Some of these songs are written by people you have never heard of, because they have never been "signed" by one of the major music publishers.

In almost all cases, the songs featured in Song Quest have not yet had wide exposure around the world.  Through Song Quest, we want to give you a taste of the future.  More than just giving you a taste, we want to invite you to engage in a dialogue about these songs.  Feel free to listen to them, and give us your feedback.  In most cases, the feedback will go directly back to the artist.  We'll keep an eye on your feedback, and if there is enough demand on one of these fresh new songs, we'll create a chart and feed it into our main catalog at PraiseCharts, where it can be available to download, print and play.

Song Quest Submissions
If you would like to submit a song for consideration in Song Quest, email an audio demo (MP3 format), lyrics, and chart (if available) to songquest@praisecharts.com.  There are no guarantees that we will post them on Song Quest, but we can guarantee that we will listen to them for consideration.  Please send one song per email.  Please do not submit songs that you have not written.  If possible, please include a short biography and headshot, and the story behind the song.

    Need You

Worship pastor Jermaine Rodriguez sent in this amazing song...please let us know what you think!

    The Narrow Gate

Worship pastor Steve Pianto sent in this song...let us know what you think!

    All About You

I received this song the beginning of my freshman year of college in 2003.  I truly consider it a song received from the Lord.  I can think of no life dilemma or tragedy which inspired it.  But I can say that it has provided an incredible message and reminder to me throughout the years.  I love the chorus lyrics, "The songs that I sing, the words that I speak, are for your fame, to bless your name, in my success, Lord, remind me of this:  it's all about You."  As a worship leader, speaker, pastor, or whatever in our mega-everything culture, the message is a relevant reminder to us to count all things lost as gain and deny ourselves--not promote ourselves.  The song was used for 5 years in our youth group and was recorded as part of a demo single in spring 2009.

Song Quest: For You (David Glenn)

Written to encourage believers to “shine their light before men”. As believers we are filled with power of God which enables us to “live a life that’s worthy of a King” and to change the world!

This song was born out of a theme that had been brewing for a few years. Inspired by mission experience with YWAM and  further Biblical studies, Jess especially had come to a point where the churches mandate to care and advocate for the poor and the needy had become undeniable. Compelled to do something, yet also not really knowing what, we did one of the only things we know how to do - Write a song. We still cannot play this song without the question 'Who Will Stand?' confronting the very core of who we are and how we live. We hope it continues to do that in our own lives and the lives of others. - Jess and Daniel

Song Quest: New Day (Daniel and Jess Hammond)

Songwriters Daniel and Jess Hammond say "New Day is a unified cry, not only for our own 'church' but for also for 'The Church' : 'one voice, one Hope, one song of freedom'. "

    Song Quest: Forevermore (Kevin West)

This song was written in a time of worship.  I love the line, “Your life conquered sin and the grave.”  This song has a lot of energy and I’ve received some great feedback from my congregation.

Song Quest: Teach Me Your Ways (John Green)

This song was written as a prayer put to music.  If we get close to the heart of God and learn His ways, then everything else will fall into place.

Song Quest: Beautiful Red (Chris DiNaso)

This song is all about the cross and the paradox of something so terrible but yet the most beautiful act of love the world has and will ever know. God chose to bring salvation to the world through the suffering of His son. For that alone our spirits should overflow with words of praise to bless His name.

Song Quest :Our God Reigns (Kevin West)

This song was written at a time of great sorrow and pain. The song I started to write was sounding dark, which is not who I am.  I wanted to write a song from where I was at in that time, but I also wanted it to be a song of hope. Our God Reigns is my way of saying that God reigns in every season…even when your present situation seems to tell you just the opposite.
