C.A. Lam

I am 24 years old and have lived in central Oklahoma all my life.  I grew up in church but did not have an authentic, life consuming faith until I was 14 years old.  I remember one night at church camp a sudden depth of reality as I accepted finally that it was all real--God, Jesus, faith, all things spiritual, my relationship with God--and the Lord deserved my entire being and life.  Since that time I have served the Lord in a variety of roles.  I have led worship for youth groups and congregations since I was 15.  Upon graduating from high school, I continued to volunteer and lead worship for the youth during college.  My degree is in family psychology with a minor in philosophy but I am currently a full-time public high school teacher and I have just recently been called to a position of youth pastor at a mission church in a low-income, high-risk area of town.  Our ministry is primarily focused on children and youth.  I continue to write and receive songs from the Lord as well and would love to make my music available to other churches and groups.

All About You

I received this song the beginning of my freshman year of college in 2003.  I truly consider it a song received from the Lord.  I can think of no life dilemma or tragedy which inspired it.  But I can say that it has provided an incredible message and reminder to me throughout the years.  I love the chorus lyrics, "The songs that I sing, the words that I speak, are for your fame, to bless your name, in my success, Lord, remind me of this:  it's all about You."  As a worship leader, speaker, pastor, or whatever in our mega-everything culture, the message is a relevant reminder to us to count all things lost as gain and deny ourselves--not promote ourselves.  The song was used for 5 years in our youth group and was recorded as part of a demo single in spring 2009.
