Paul Baloche
Paul Baloche has written some of this generation’s most compelling worship songs, songs that have become the soundtrack for believers all over the world in times of worship both corporate and private. His approach to his calling is simple, yet profound: “The best worship songs come as a byproduct of worship.”

Wonderful, inspiring, lots of wisdom, and ain't that the truth. I inherited a 75 year old bass player, that, God bless her soul, is not happening, I am the new Music director of 8 weeks, I play jazz/rock piano and have a great drummer and decent guitar players. I play bass pedals, can I use that as a way out? I do not want to offend her, does anyone have suggestions? God bless what you are doing, and you. Thanks. pb

You're right on, Paul. I am a drummer and have been drumming in church for, holy cow, almost 30 yrs. Time flies... Currently drumming and leading worship in a startup church. It is absolutely CRITICAL that you have a drummer that can keep solid time. And you also need to have one that knows how to play so the words can be heard. Ok to play louder in the intros, outros, transitions, but have to know how to get out of the way when it's time to hear something else. Thx. bam

You hit the nail on the head. I taught band for 30 years and heard good ones and bad ones. Keeping time is important and knowing when to support and when to shine. We currently do not have a drummer but we use a drum machine to help stay together. We use several wind instruments in the group also. Enjoy your music.
