Michael King of Breathe Deep brought us this fun, energetic song.  Enjoy and please leave us your thoughts!

About Breathe Deep:
In a cluttered contemporary Christian scene packed with a plethora of worship music clones, the term authenticity may be thrown around a lot, though in reality, is rarely executed to its fullest degree. However for the members of Breathe Deep, pouring out an authentic artistic outpouring is only half the battle, instead filling up the remainder of the equation with an amazingly genuine approach to vertical songwriting that doesn't just focus on the sunshine drenched satisfactions of life, but also its disruptive chaos and constant steam of trials. Both are bold paths indeed, but ones worship leader and founder Mike King and company unashamedly walk throughout a self-titled CD, laying down all burdens before the cross, while simultaneously offering unconditional glory to God.

"One thing we talk about a lot is our challenge to get people to think differently about worship music," explains Breathe Deep's lead vocalist/pianist and songwriter Mike King, referencing the group's evolution from a circle of Minneapolis churches into its own recording and touring entity. "So many times in my own experience I try to fake God out with a smiley, happy face rather than being authentic and honest with God. Worship is also a time to empty out the junk and also allow him to see the dark spots in our hearts. There is a lot of confession and a lot praise in every song we've created because we find a lot of triteness with all the shiny happy songs."

That isn't to say the thirteen-track disc (with Grammy winning Audio Adrenaline production alum Jason Burkum at the helm) isn't replete with joy, it's just manifested through a series of subjects that unveil the group's vulnerable side to songwriting. Yet throughout times of trouble and tussle, Breathe Deep reminds all that God's grace is always available for the truly repentant sinner and that He's always by our side no matter how high the burdens pile up.

The most overt example of that muse is "I Need You," a momentum building ballad that cries out to God in desperation over humanity's fallen state while reiterating how His love is the ultimate lifeline. Of equal interest is the riveting "Scream Your Name," adapting a message of adoration throughout atmospheric Euro-rock and rippling guitar tones. In addition, "Speak To Me" touches on what an awesome privilege it is to worship the King of Kings, while "Angels" is an extremely creative expression that could be considered the project's most congregational piece of praise.

"Sometimes musicians dive into a project for their own glory and don't have God's best interest in mind, which is a really dangerous place to be," offers King. "We hold one another accountable and are going at this with the goal of wherever God may take us. We're really excited about hitting the road and serving our church but we're not in this to be rock stars. The material is made to be heard and used in churches, so hopefully we can equip believers to further develop in their private and public worship environments."
