“For the glory of thy kingdom, I will honor Thee, Lord”…these words are the first line of I Choose You and were derived from a prayer I had been speaking to the Lord from my heart. At
the time, I was a new mother and was experiencing the array of emotions
that come with the territory of tending to a precious newborn baby. The
responsibility was awesome, but I wanted more than anything else to
honor God in my role as a mother and as a Christian role model for my
daughter, Ava.While Ava napped, I would often take the opportunity to sit at my piano and spend time in worship and in the Word.It was during one of those times that I sat down and wrote I Choose You.It was almost as if the words and melody had been stored up in my heart and were literally poured out onto the pages. It
was a true gift from God to be able to craft together an offering of
praise that I felt conveyed what was in my heart during those tender
moments.I sing this as a prayer most of the time and hope that daily I can choose Christ and honor him with my life.
