“For the glory of thy kingdom, I will honor Thee, Lord”…these words are the first line of
I Choose You and were derived from a prayer I had been speaking to the Lord from my heart. At
the time, I was a new mother and was experiencing the array of emotions
that come with the territory of tending to a precious newborn baby. The
responsibility was awesome, but I wanted more than anything else to
honor God in my role as a mother and as a Christian role model for my
daughter, Ava. While Ava napped, I would often take the opportunity to sit at my piano and spend time in worship and in the Word. It was during one of those times that I sat down and wrote I Choose You. It was almost as if the words and melody had been stored up in my heart and were literally poured out onto the pages. It
was a true gift from God to be able to craft together an offering of
praise that I felt conveyed what was in my heart during those tender
moments. I sing this as a prayer most of the time and hope that daily I can choose Christ and honor him with my life. Rebecca Sehnert

Rebecca has a rich, controlled voice. I love the simplicity of this melody combined with the rhythmic change of the chorus. And such a powerful message!!

great voice and I think the back-up is great.
Love the guitar intro. Think the lyrics are wonderful and very prayerful. Feel the melody is a bit monotonous...but I know that often "praise songs" that are being sung in a church may need to be that way so that people can sing along. The last 3 or four measures have alot more life in them. |

great voice, love the back ground vocals
Love the guitar intro. Think the lyrics are very moving and prayerful. Find the melody a bit monotonous. But if it's to be a praise song for others to sing along with, perhaps it needs to be that way. The last 4 or so measures in the song seem to have alot more life and spirit in them |

Heartfelt lyrics sung with honest, powerful emotion. What's not to like? The song is simple to sing but has good depth. I can see churches all over America singing this prayer to the Lord. Great song!

God gave us a freewill to choose as we please. This beautiful song is a testimony to making the right choice. Because of that choice, we're listening a gift God gave Rebecca. An inspired song that touches our lives. I love the emotion and dedication I hear in it.

This is a gift from God through you, Rebecca. A lullaby like melody that brings us into the waking dream that is His kingdom. God blessed you and you have in turn blessed us. What a beautiful legacy for your daughter. Thank you for allowing (by choosing) Him to work through you.
