"Let Heaven and Nature Sing"
by Toby Baxley
You have called us out of darkness into your holy light,
You have pierced the deaf'ning silence with a baby's cry;
You've brought forth salvation in a cattle stall,
The Hope of every nation, it's Jesus, the Lord of all!
Joy to the world! The Lord has come,
O earth receive your King;
Let ev'ry heart prepare him room,
Let Heaven and nature sing,
Let Heaven and nature sing.
You have crushed the power of darkness by your holy light,
Spoken freedom for the captives with a baby's cry;
You've authored our redemption from sin and death and strife,
For lying there in swaddling clothes is the Way, the Truth, and the Life!
Glory to God in the highest for Love has come, Love has come;
Glory to God in the highest for Love has come, Love has come to us!

Hey, nice job Toby! New Christmas songs for congregation rarely do it for me, but this is well written and catchy! It's even in D major, so you could maybe even combine it with an acoustic version of the original carol. I think if I was going to change anything, I'd make the last phrase of the chorus end up on the higher octave D just so it "sings" a little more, you know? Great song--thanks for sharing it!

Hi Toby from Nelson NZ. We have just listened to your song and it is a winner here. We can tell you it will most certainly be on our Christmas list of songs. We love it's originality, it's light and joyful and very catchy. Thanks so much for sharing your gift, we are blessed every time we sing your songs in our church. As a matter of fact, We Sing Hallelujah is sung by all 4 of our worship teams and it is still a strong favourite with the congregation. Neil sings, Words Cannot Express and Rend the Heavens as solo's. Keep them coming. We are still holding on in our prayers, that you will all come to NZ when the timing is right.?!. Please keep writing, we love it that you worship in Spirit and in truth and your music is so annointed by our God in Heaven. Blessings from Diane and Neil.
