One of the best things we have going for us at PraiseCharts is an active and responsive customer base who loves to participate in our regular Song Request Surveys.  Before the days of our Song Request Surveys, adding music to our catalog was a big guessing game.  Now, our customers get to tell us exactly what they want, on a regular basis, and all we have to do is respond accordingly.  We won't be showing the complete results, but here are a few highlights (along with notes about how we are responding):

Top Requested Lead Sheets
We survey well over a hundred new titles that are not currently in our catalog.  Generally, our plan is to do all that we can to make sure that at least the top 25 % of these songs from our recent survey are made available in our catalog as soon as possible.  Then we'll gauge the response on those songs, plus survey them to our orchestration customers, before we determine if we are going to make full orchestrations available (see below for those songs).

1. Your Grace Is Enough (Matt Maher)
   We already have the Chris Tomlin version, but because this song is so popular right now, we'll be releasing the Matt Maher version very soon.  In fact, by next week, we'll have the entire set of piano/vocal charts from the recent Matt Maher album, Empty And Beautiful.
2. Beautiful One (Jeremy Camp)
   Another great song where we already have the Tim Hughes version, but Jeremy Camp knows how to make this song sail.  We'll have it online very soon.
3. Everything Glorious (David Crowder)
   In the next week or so, we'll be adding about 15 new titles from David Crowder, including the entire collection of piano/vocal charts from his recent album, Remedy.
4. All Because Of Jesus (Fee)
   This one has been in the priority queue for a while, and we hope to have it finally ready this week.
5. Turn Your Eyes Upon Jesus (Hillsong)
   The new Hillsong album is out, and the response to the entire album of songs was very strong in the survey.  Believe it or not, the top two requested songs are not even Hillsong titles!  Following this classic, we're looking forward to releasing He Is Our God and This Is Our God.  The whole album of piano/vocal charts are being released tonight, and orchestrations on selected titles are in the works.

Top Requested Orchestrations
We also surveyed about 50 songs that we currently have lead sheets or piano/vocal arrangements for, but no orchestrations. This part of the survey was limited to customers who use orchestrations only.  Below is a list of some of the top requested orchestrations.

1. All Creatures Of Our God And King (David Crowder)
   This was a bit of a surprise, but David Crowder's arrangement of this classic hymn was our top requested orchestration.  We put Dan Galbraith on it immediately last week.  It is scheduled to be made available tonight.
2. O Worship The King (Chris Tomlin)
   Another hymn from the realm of modern worship leaders.  We've put it in the priority queue, and this orchestration should become available in the next couple of weeks.
3. Not To Us (Chris Tomlin)
   Another classic from Chris Tomlin that has been on the priority list for a while, but now we are going to push it into high priority.  In addition to this, we'll be focusing on a number of new titles from Chris Tomlin's latest album, Hello Love.

Written Feedback
In addition to song selections, we had a lot of encouraging written feedback from customers.  Read below to get a taste of the vibe we are receiving from many long time customers of PraiseCharts.  In addition to the accolades, here are a couple of common suggestions that we are going to try to address:

1. More Keys - initially, we thought offering two keys was putting us on the "cutting edge."  Seems that times have changed, expectations are higher, and people just need more flexibility.  So, we are going to try to start offering more than two keys on many songs, right out of the gate.  Generally, the approach we will take is to do the original key (which is usually on the high side), then determine the lowest alternate that doesn't require a re-write of the arrangement, and then offer the additional common keys in between.
2. More Gospel Music - it seems that we are very strong in the Top 40 category of Christian worship music, but our list of gospel (i.e. black gospel) songs is still lacking.  Stay tuned as we look at ways to expand this area of our catalog in the future.
