Galbraith has just come out of the studio with another set of
contemporary hymn arrangements to add to our PraiseHymns

and chord charts at www.praisecharts.com/9027. As you listen, we would love to hear your feedback below.

Great sound! That's why;
"Dan's original PraiseHymns and PraiseCarols studio arrangements have become some of the most popular titles in the entire PraiseCharts catalog." ...we have both, and will be checking the rest of this one out as well. Grabs you right from the start and brings a freshness to the first words. Doc [our drummer] will have a blast as usuall. Also, the horn parts hit in the sweet spots. Love the layout - v1v2 then the ch. and v3 is alive with anticipation due to the dynamic shift. Hymn to Song transformation accomplished. Thanks Dan! ...now listening to "A Mighty Fortress Is Our God"... man, this is addictive. |

What a fresh new version of this great song. I love it. Will there be a whole CD of Patriotic songs available for purchase soon? I'd like to buy it to play on the 4th of July. Thank you.

Hi Valerei ... glad you like the song. Just FYI, we are not going to have a physical CD this year, so you'll have to download the Audio MP3's from PraiseCharts and then burn your own CD.

Forgive me first for my lack of adequate communication with words. Normally, for me, songs with such thick production overwhelm me and distract my comprehension of lyrical content and intended passion of a songs' heart...however this one is excellent and paints a vivid picture of what a heavenly band might be like, singing and playing to the glory of our King. You have a great voice and are very talented so don't take this the wrong way but, I'd love to hear Ron Kenoly do this with Abraham Laboriel, and the Brecker Brothers doing the horn arrangements. Great Job!!!!

I agree with John W. mostly. The arrangement is fresh and powerful, but the drummer needs to be tamed down a bunch, very distracting and uncomplimentary, as with most modern CCM. Ron Kenolly would do a great job of this as well. Thanks for all your hard work. Steve

John, no offense taken :-) I would love to see what Kenoly and Laboriel would do with this! Gotta give the vocal credit to Rick Briscoe at Prestonwood Baptist, though. He does a great lead vocal.

This is soul stirring, lifting and wonderful! Itz a hymn I love so much. I listened to it again and again and again. The arrangement in praise worship was super! Whoever listens to it will have his/her sorrow and sadness melt away and return no more. Amen!!!!

We can't even honor our men and women in uniform with music of dignity anymore. It becomes necessary to boogie to the music rather than stand tall and march. It seems we should continue to work toward freedom, for sure, but not disrespect. i challenge you to keep this in mind with your "patriotic" renditions.

Bob, I know that every arrangement will not meet the needs of all of our customers, and I'm sorry that was the case with you. My focus and intent with this was the "Hallelujah" aspect of this classic text. Certainly, there is a time for solemn recognition of the sacrifice of our soldiers, but there is also a time for the jubilant celebration of what that sacrifice brought about, amen? Hopefully the joy that we naturally express in that word for (jubilantly) "Praise Yahweh" is reflected in this arrangement.

Dan, great arrangement. So often attempts to update older tunes miss the mark. This one nailed it. You've kept the integrity of the lyric, the emotion of the song, while providing a great orchestration and groove.

Didn't like the arrangement - would be very hard for a congregation to sing in time with it - might be my age group influencing my answer!

Hi Robyn ... thanks for your honesty and frankness. Clearly, a old hymn with an edgy beat like this is not going to appeal to everyone. Just for interest sake, what "age group" are you in? What is cool about PraiseCharts is that with many of the hymns, we offer many different versions of some of the most popular hymns. People can find what fits their congregational worship style and get exactly what they need.

Exellent arrangment, "really refreshing" and I'm sure it will go down very well with most congregations; no matter what age they may be.

Sounds pretty difficult. Not for the average praise band. This arrangement does a good job of adding the effects of the brass, rock organ and strings to emphasize different the lyrics talking about God's Glory. The drummers will LOVE it. Thanks for keeping it in a singable key. Reminds me of "Truth's" arrangements in the 80's and 90's.
