songs you are singing from week to week. Give us a window into one of
your Sunday mornings.

Here is a link to the list of contemporary songs we are currently using at North Park Community Church in London Ontario, Canada. We keep it up to date at http://spreadsheets.google.com/pub?key=pW-tk8yAQ3BbKY9bjg9VTCg - we try to add about a dozen songs every 3 months (and we "retire" songs periodically as well.)

I would love to copy your spreadsheet and adapt it to our church. Would you mind? I don't believe I can download the spreadsheet and edit it without your permission.

Bob,
Thanks for sharing your spreadsheet. It is excellent! I too will copy your spreadsheet and adapt it for our purposes. I too have been trying to utilise Google Apps for my worship/music/volunteer teams. I ran into trouble including the lyrics of the songs into the spreadsheet. I want to include the lyrics so that worship leaders can do a keyword search for songs to include in a service set. Have you had any luck including lyrics? If not, do you only rely on the general categories included in your spreadsheet (e.g. "Celebration", "Adoration", etc)? |

This past weekend we worshipped the Lord using the following songs: "By Faith", "Kingdom Vision", "I've Come" and "Treasure of My Soul". These songs were all written by Jeff Dessommes, who is a member of one of our worship teams and an uber-talented songwriter. We also sang "Everything I Am" (Horness/Dyer), "Give to the Lord" (Kenoly) and "I Give You My Heart" (Morgan). However, this coming weekend, our Men's Quartet is leading worship, so it will be much more traditional. We are truly blessed to have 6-7 different worship teams - each with a different style.

Makes me wonder what the songs we are not doing sound like. Our group of musicians are mostly all currently playing professional gigs as well as church. We are fortunate in that respect. Songs are selected on Sunday, learned on Monday and Tuesday, practiced on Wednesday, with a practice
preformance before services early Sunday morning. Sunday mornings are heavy duty coffee for some. The keyboardist/pianist (me) is the only one who uses lead sheets and chord charts. I'm the slow learner. New songs are added as the service focus changes. |

I worship at a Lutheran church. We currently have 2 services each week. 1 Traditional and 1 Contemporary. We have a worship band in which I'm a part of. The traditional service uses all hymns and cantacles. The contemporary service we kinda use the 1/3 approach. 1/3 is from Lutheran resources, 1/3 is from CCM (stuff you might hear on contemporay Christian radio and 1/3 material the worship band writes. We try to introduce 1 new song per month. We're always looking for resources in which to draw from.

We're a UMC with a traditional service and a contemporary service. At times our traditional service is more "blended" in a traditional way - this past Sunday we sang "He Is Exalted" and "Majesty" as a medley, as well as "Shine Jesus Shine" and the final hymn was the great "Rejoice The Lord Is King" with brass and pipe organ. In our contemporary service, there's a lot of support for pushing ahead with newer music, but this past week we went retro with "Shout to the Lord" and our people loved it. This week's contemporary service will include "All The Earth Will Sing Your Praises" and Jeff Deyo's song "Bless The Lord". We'll also do "Holy Spirit Rain Down" and "Holy Spirit, Come" and finishing up with "More Love, More Power"... usually we sing one or two more songs, but it's Pentecost AND Mother's Day, so our children's choir is doing a little mini-musical in the services.

I play the trumpet each week on our P&W team and I mainly use the Lead Sheets to play from. I download all my music strictly from Praisecharts and welcome this question; specifically if it means that you'll be making more song sheets available to download. Here's a list of some of the songs we do each month: I Believe (Hillsong), Taste & See, Mighty to Save (Hillsong), You Are My Strength, Let God Arise (Chris Tomlin), My Savior Lives, Hosanna (Hillsong), I'm Not Ashamed, Nothing is Impossible, Healer (Planetshakers), Revelation Song, I Will Boast, Came to My Rescue, For Who You Are, You-You Are God, Sweetly Broken, The Stand. We sing a lot of Hillsong and Chris Tomlin music. Thanks for asking for samples of our songs. It'll be great to have a bigger selection to download from, if you add some of this music. Thanks!

Terrific! It's great seeing what others are doing. It helps me compare, since, in my mind, I'm just a simple worship leader out there trying to do my best at what others have sooooo much more ability, understanding and know-how to do.

In Holliday, PA, we have a blended service with a congregation of around 100. We try to introduce 5-10 songs per year, as we have found repetition to be very helpful in helping members learn (and remember!) the songs. The list includes The Power of Your Love, I See the Lord, Great is the Lord, God is Good (under the 'older new' category); and Forever, Enough, Indescribable, How Can I Keep From Singing, You are Holy (Prince of Peace), Trading My Sorrows and Be the Centre (as the 'cutting edge for us' category). We also enjoy traditional hymns with hype, like The Wonderful Cross, Amazing Grace My Chains are Gone, and Paul Baloche's instrumental accomp for All Hail the Power - I recommend this one!!

Kia ora from New Zealand. What a great opportunity to see what other Churches do around the other side of the world - and it makes you realise that we are all closer than we think! We tend to do alot of songs from Hillsong, Planetshakers, Lakewood and mostly from EQUIPPERS AUCKLAND - REVOLUTION CD. Super anointed and a joy to sing.
