Paul Baloche has written some of this generation’s most compelling worship songs, songs that have become the soundtrack for believers all over the world in times of worship both corporate and private. His approach to his calling is simple, yet profound: “The best worship songs come as a byproduct of worship.”

this video is very helpful. I really appreciate your desire to introduce songs, but to do it in a strategic way keeping the congregation in mind throughout. Thanks.

Thanks for keeping the point of individual worship as key for introducing new songs. It is easy to find yourself as a leader worshipping during a song because you are so familiar with it and everybody else is just standing there because they haven't had time to connect with it.

Great balance...I love jam sessions to try out new things. It can keep our team from getting bored and stay challenged, but corporate worship isn't always the best time for these unless God is leading it. Thanks for the reminder that leading the people to a connection with God is what it's about. The familiar can breed abandoned praise and release. Blessings...

This is a great article. I know that as a member of the frontline praise team, even I could get overwhelmed when a worship leader introduced too many new songs in a short time span. I can only imagine how confusing it felt to the congregation. It's hard to worship when you don't know any of the songs, week after week. However, you don't want to constantly sing the same four songs week after week either, so the balance is really important. This article helps define what a good balance is.

So good... are the words of our brother concerning this topic. It also is a confirmation for me and I'm sure others who have been trying to expand the song rotation yet not overwelm our people every week. Having an evening service also is a great place to first roll out the new song for two or three times before bringing it forward to the main service. Thanks Paul for your insite on this topic. Lord Bless

Thanks for the great tips. Agreed with what you have said about the choice of songs selection and introducing new songs to the congregation which lead the congregation to more reading rather than worshipping the Lord with our singing. Blessings

Thank you Paul. We have many of your cd's and they are amazing. God was good to you when he put the songs in your heart. This clip was very helpful. May we have more of them. I pray for success in your ministry and the peace of God be with you always. I am from Nelson New Zealand, our church is a community one where we have in that community a police station. A very challenging and rewarding place to be. My husband Neil is a worship leader and I sing and play drums. Blessing and love
