Have you ever heard of enacted prayer? My friend Gordon, who
is suffering from cancer just got back from an arts conference where
they prayed for him, but they enacted the prayer. One person played
the cancer, one person played Gordon, and one person played Jesus who
expelled the cancer. He said it was very moving and powerful. I've attached a
link to a video from Northwestern College
that explains the concept.

So, you want to start a drama ministry at your church? What do you need? First, you need a buy in from your senior pastor. If
he isn't onboard with adding drama to the worship service, it's going
to go nowhere fast. You'll also need to discuss the effect adding a
three or four-minute sketch to the worship service will have on the
total time of the service. On the Sundays you have a sketch, you may
need to have one less song than normal, or take out another element of
the service, such as the children's message or the "greet your
neighbor" time. Or have you pastor commit to preaching 3 minutes less
than he normally does!
