Words & Music: Dennis Jernigan ©2007 Shepherd's Heart Music, Inc.
Verse
When will You come?
When will I see?
How will I know Your glory?
You are my King!
I will bow down!
Your Kingdom come!
Come in me now!
Chorus
Come, King Jesus!
Bring Your Kingdom!
Scatter darkness with Your majesty!
Come, King Jesus!
Reign in freedom!
Reign in power!
And let Your Kingdom come in me!
Verse Two
You are my King,
So reign over me!
Fill me with pow'r and glory!
Pierce ev'ry darkness
And set captives free!
Lead on, O King,
Beginning in me!
Bridge
The King is coming
On a horse of white!
He will reign in power!
He will reign in might!
Jesus come! Jesus come!
Jesus come!
Let Your Kingdom come!
The King is coming!
Let His church rise up!
Let us declare to the darkness
We have had enough!
Jesus come! Jesus come!
Jesus come!
Let Your Kingdom come!
“…Jesus, come! Jesus, come! Jesus, come! Let Your kingdom come!...”
Today, let’s take one word and meditate on that Word all day long. As you meditate, ask the Holy Spirit to take you to places of understanding about this word as it relates to your life that you have never seen before. Let’s focus on Jesus in this way. His name means ‘Jehovah is Salvation’. Throughout this day, focus on the word ‘Savior’.
What does the word ‘Savior’ mean in relation to your work? Marriage? Relationships? Etc?
He saved us, not on the basis of deeds which we have done in righteousness, but
according to His mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewing by the Holy Spirit,
whom He poured out upon us richly through Jesus Christ our Savior…
Titus 3:5-6 NASB

Have you ever gotten to a point in one of the rooms of your house…like with a family room or attic or even a garage where the clutter from years of collection has simply left you so overwhelmed you dread even going into that room? Its easier sometimes to just ignore the mess or simply avoid that room than to deal with the task of cleaning it out! There comes a point where we have had enough and we dive into the mess and start throwing things away…and More

In this day and age it seems the very fabric of our cultural morality is unraveling at the seams. What is right is now viewed as wrong. Things that are sinful and immoral are now viewed as civil rights. What can the church do about it? One thing we cannot do is expect the world to come to us, even in our seeker sensitive focus. Jesus commanded us to go and make disciples…not to wait for them to come to us. No matter how appealing we make our church More

Have you ever had one of those days where you just felt overwhelmed? And I’m not talking about overwhelmed with bad things…just the busyness of life. It is in those moments of total mental, emotional, and physical saturation that we need Jesus and His kingdom to come into our lives the most…but we are often too overwhelmed to receive what He offers. It is understandable that we cannot just stop what we are doing all of a sudden – but we can More
He will reign in power! He will reign in might!

For Jesus to rule and reign in our lives we must come to a place of trust. We do not experience His power and the benefits of His kingdom if we do not trust Him. Our King Jesus is holy and pure and perfect. That means everything that He desires for us and everything He commands us to do is based purely out of what is good and right for us. It is when we do not trust His holiness that we do not experience kingdom life. Almost daily I discover ways More
The King is coming on a horse of white

As children, we often play games in which a knight in shining armor comes riding in on his horse of white. My brothers and cousins and I would play for hours. We had the added advantage of having our own horses, making the fantasy all the more real in our minds! What fun it was to get to play the part of the hero and rush in to vanquish the foe and rescue the fair maiden. In my own hidden world, I secretly always wanted to be the one that got rescued. More

Today we are going to meditate on just one phrase. Meditation is simply focusing our minds on one thought for a period of time. A great illustration of meditation is this: a cow has one stomach with 4 digestive compartments. As the cow eats a mouthful of grass, it swallows that food. After a period of digestion, it then regurgitates that partially digested grass into its mouth where it chews it more. This regurgitated food is called cud. A cow chews More
Pierce every darkness and set captives free

I remember well the darkness I was bound in for so long…and I remember just as well the very moment when my eyes began to open. Reality was that I had believed so many lies of the enemy that all it took was a little glimmer of light in the mass of my darkness to illumine my eyes and set me on the path of righteousness. When that moment happened, I decided that falling headlong into the Light was my one and only response. I did not want just a More
Fill me with power and glory

There are days when we have become so emptied by the cares of the world that we feel we have no strength to even take our next step…emotionally, mentally, spiritually, or even physically. It is in such times that we need an energy source that does not run dry when we do! God’s Word tells us we have not because we ask not. When is the last time you asked the Lord to fill you with His power? Did you ask in faith or were you simply going through More
You are my King, so reign over me
Dennis Jernigan | February 13, 2010 | Categories: Blogs | Tags: Devotional
Jesus Christ is my King…but He is a good King. His rule is born of His holiness – His perfection. He rules in perfect love, meaning He does not force me to follow Him. This King loves me right where I am…but loves me enough to not leave me there. It was that kind of love – that righteous, kingly, perfect love – that led me to repentance and set me on the road to freedom. I proudly and boldly proclaim His rule and reign in my life. I submit More
